“The poorest man on earth is a woman”
Pink Mango’s corporate and social responsibility response is inspired by the Zoulou and Xhosa concept of Ubuntu which emphasizes compassion and humanity. We hope to bring the elegance of humanity in our beauty and fashion industries, setting our African factories apart from the trajectory these industries have taken in other countries.
Therefore Pink Ubuntu comprises of three commitments :
In countries where we produce, a percentage of our annual profit is reinjected into local initiatives targeting the reduction of women’s poverty.
A contractual agreement with our partner factories to hire women previously excluded from the labor market. The number of women hired annually is determined by the turnover we make with each factory.
An annual Pink Ubuntu scholarship for one or more line workers to further their education.
